There are a folk belief of people of the Nabadwip, Nadia - Ravan played the role of the Ghatak(Mediator) between the Marriage of Shiva and Parvati.

At the Basanti Puja ceremony, the entire folk community of Nabadwip curiously arrange a marriage between with great fanfare.
This is the theme of this year of Thakurpukur Club.
The pujo consists of a head installation (Lingam Head) of Shiva and a ak chala Parvati (sans sons and daughters).
At the Dashami both of them are engaged

For last few years Thakurpukur Club is organizing Dorga Pujo as a yearly ritual as well as to fulfill its various social obligations.
As a efficient organizer of Durga Pujo the Club office bearers created their niche in their hinterland as well at the power corridors.
It has maintained smooth rapport with police-administration to create peace and tranquility in the areas as well as running of various social service obligations.
Most of the office bearers are from respectable social and family background. and most of them are engaged themselves as an entrepreneur or working at a decision making level at various corporate entities.
As a responsible civil entity, it has a wider responsibility to meet challenges to cooperate the police & the administration to shape Kolkata as a smooth and beautiful international city.
The mandate of the organization and its members is to work with various initiatives and events so that the broader outlook of the organization kept in mind.
This year too it has completed its various social obligations like organizing blood donation camp at the summer, eye camp for the poor and various other social events.
The spread of mindless urbanization do not deter the club to hold a sports ground though the real estate price of the field is sky rocketing now.
From time immemorial the club is holding various tournaments in this part of the city and revered as a true sports lover in the mind of city dwellers.
